Caffeine and bedtime: check your timing
To explore whether caffeine affects your sleep routine, start by recording what you drink and when.

Look beyond coffee
Include tea, energy drinks, and other products whose labels list caffeine. Record the serving size rather than only the product name. The aim is to understand your usual pattern, not to label one difficult night as proof of a cause.
Choose one realistic adjustment
Pick a change you can maintain and note what happens over several days. Keep other routine changes visible in your record too. If sleep difficulties continue to affect daytime functioning, discuss them with a professional rather than repeatedly buying sleep products.
Practical checklist
- List drinks and products containing caffeine, including coffee, tea and energy drinks.
- Note the time you use them and how the evening goes.
- Discuss a realistic timing change if you need help; do not assume a 'wellness' drink is caffeine-free.
