AM/PM vs 3-times-daily pill boxes: which layout fits?
More compartments are not always more useful.

The box follows your medicine instructions. Your instructions never follow the box.
AM/PM: two sections per day
This layout separates two labeled times. Compare it with the actual instructions from your care team; the labels are not a new dosing schedule.
Three sections: another way to organize
A 21-compartment weekly layout has three sections for each of seven days. It may offer more separation, but it also adds more spaces to check.
Compare before choosing
Can you read the labels, open the lids and tell the sections apart? Check the exact variant and measurements. Product photos can show several versions in one listing.
Ask before transferring medicines
Ask your pharmacist which medicines, if any, are suitable for an organizer and how to maintain identification. Keep medicines in their original packaging unless advised otherwise.

Match the layout to the directions you already have
Count the separate times shown on your current medicine directions before comparing compartments. More sections do not make a box more suitable by themselves. Do not change when or how you take medicine to match a new organizer.
Compare usability before you buy
Look for readable day labels, enough space for each approved dose, and lids you can manage. Ask for internal measurements rather than judging capacity from a photo. Removable day pods may be convenient, but check whether their labels remain clear when separated from the main tray.
Questions to ask
Does an AM/PM label tell me when to take my medicine?
No. Follow your own prescription or pharmacist's directions. The printed labels are an organizing feature.
Are the lids easy to open?
We have not tested opening force. A photograph cannot establish suitability for someone with limited hand movement. Ask the seller about the closure and return conditions.
